nVariant. ("nVariant," "we," "us," or "our") helps you create step-by-step interactive demos of websites. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use our web application and services (the "Services").

We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.


1. Information We Collect

We collect information that is necessary to provide and improve our Services.

a. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name

  • Email address

  • Password (stored in encrypted form)

  • Profile information and preferences

  • Authentication provider information (e.g., Google account ID if you sign in via Google OAuth)

b. Demo Content

When you create demos using nVariant, we collect and store:

  • Screenshots: Images of web pages you capture

  • Interaction Data: Clicks, scrolls, and other interactions you record

  • Page URLs: Web addresses included in your demos

  • Demo Metadata: Titles, descriptions, creation dates, and timestamps

  • Voiceovers: AI-generated audio from text-to-speech scripts you provide, or voice recordings you upload (optional)

All demo content is uploaded to and stored on our secure servers.

Important: You retain full ownership of your demo content. We only process this content to provide our Services. Content shared publicly or via embedding may be accessible to anyone with the link based on your sharing settings.

c. Billing Information

For paid accounts, we collect:

  • Payment card information

  • Billing address

  • Transaction history

Payment information is processed securely through our payment processor. We do not store complete credit card numbers.

d. Demo Viewer Data

When someone views a demo shared by an nVariant user, we collect data on behalf of the demo creator. Demo viewers are not required to have an nVariant account. We collect:

  • Number of views and view duration

  • Device type, browser, and operating system information

  • Approximate geographic location (country/city) derived from IP address

  • Engagement metrics (clicks, completion rate, time per step, navigation patterns)

  • Referral source and UTM parameters

  • Viewport dimensions

  • A de-identified visitor identifier derived from technical attributes (IP address, user agent, and viewport) for unique visitor counting

  • Lead form submissions: If a demo includes a form, any information the viewer voluntarily submits through the form fields is collected and shared with the demo creator

The demo creator is responsible for informing their viewers about data collection through their demos. nVariant acts as a data processor on behalf of the demo creator for viewer data.

e. Usage and Technical Information

We automatically collect:

  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device identifiers

  • Usage Data: Features used, pages visited, time spent on platform

  • Network Information: IP address, general location

  • Performance Data: Error logs, load times

f. Communications

When you contact us, we collect:

  • Email messages and support tickets

  • Feedback and survey responses

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the Services: Create, store, edit, and share your interactive demos

  • Process Payments: Handle billing and subscriptions

  • Improve Our Platform: Analyze usage patterns and develop new features

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:

a. Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party companies that help us operate our Services:

  • Cloud hosting and storage providers (for storing demos and media)

  • AI service providers (for generating guides, voiceovers, and content enhancements)

  • Payment processors (for handling payments)

  • Email service providers (for transactional communications)

These providers are required to protect your data and use it only for the services they provide to us.

b. When You Share Demos

When you share a demo:

  • Anyone with the link can view it (based on your sharing settings)

  • You control who has access and can revoke access anytime

  • Embedded demos can be viewed on external websites where you've placed them

c. Team Members

If you're part of a team workspace:

  • Team administrators can view demos created by team members

  • Workspace analytics may be visible to administrators

d. Business Transfers

If nVariant is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you if this happens.

e. Legal Requirements

We may disclose information when required by law or to:

  • Comply with legal obligations or court orders

  • Protect our rights, property, or safety

  • Prevent fraud or abuse

  • Enforce our Terms of Service

f. With Your Consent

We may share information in other situations when you give us permission.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in

5. Data Retention

  • Demo content: Until you delete it or close your account

  • Account data: Deleted within a reasonable period after account closure (except data we're required to keep for legal/financial reasons)

  • Financial records: Retained as required for tax and accounting purposes

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information.

6. Data Security

We implement security measures to protect your information:

10. AI Features

Our Services include optional AI-powered features. Regarding your data and AI:

  • No Training: We do not use Customer Content to train AI models

  • Third-Party Processing: AI features are powered by third-party AI service providers; your content may be transmitted to these providers solely for processing your request

  • User Responsibility: AI-generated outputs may be inaccurate and should be reviewed before use

11. Third-Party Services

Our Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites and applications. This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do:

  • We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top

  • For material changes, we may notify you via email

  • Continued use of our Services after changes means you accept the updated policy
